House Fire in Decatur
6/2/2020 (Permalink)
DHS says that a small flame can turn into a major fire in less than 30 seconds and it can become life-threatening in only 2 minutes.
These are the steps you should take immediate after a fire
- Contact a disaster relief organization (American Red Cross, Salvation Army, religious organizations, community groups)
- Contact your insurance agent, or if you do not know who your agent is, contact your insurance company’s 1-800 number.
- Talk to the fire fighters on site to make sure it is safe to stay in your home.
- If it is safe to do so, photograph the damage (including personal items)
- Call a professional restoration company to help restore your property.
